Tell us about you and the unique qualities or expertise you have?
I grew up in the Army and spent a lot of my youth overseas. I think this gives me a special insight into the military families I serve through our program. As the mother of a young man with special needs, I have also developed a sensitivity to issues of developmental delays and concerns, that allows me to help see parents through some of the hard processes that come along with such concerns.
What is your favorite part of the service you provide?
My favorite part is watching families grow and succeed in their goals. I enjoy watching parents learn to play again and realizing that this play is so beneficial for their children.
When you are not providing services to families, what do you like to do in your spare time?
When I have spare time, I really enjoy scary movies. I also swim and enjoy hikes and walks with my family. I have recently rediscovered my kitchen, and the joy that cooking brings me, so I have been doing quite a bit of that lately.
What is something unique about yourself that you would like others to know?
My first language is German. I still speak it every day.
